Tomb of Annihilation (Session 7)

  The great Dinosaur Race Day is finally here! Having spent time with Crumb, Thavakean feels a good bond and ready to race. To prepare himself he spends the morning walking the brightly painted road memorising the course while the others see what they can find out. Recognising the dangers of the water jets at the Temple of Gond, Orion waits there ready to help. Meanwhile Alyssia stays near the start looking to disrupt Nirsalli - a Deep Gnomes with a Deinonychus named Jungle Princess and Saralon gives Thavakean a good luck Guidance tap as they are about to start. The beautiful Merchant Prince Kwayothe addresses the crowd and racers explaining the course that will run will start at Goldenthrone crossing the bridge to the Temple of Savras then loop down past the Temple of Gond and round under the Temple of Sune’s bridge then dash across the edge of the Merchant’s Ward towards the Old City gates. The party return to Port Nyanzaru. On the boat journey back though Julian finally manages to open the box revealing a stash of gold and a sending stone. He takes the stone and shares some of the wealth with the party. Night has fallen now and when they arrive at the docks some figures Julian seems to know approach. They take the stone and hand Julian some things before melting into the shadows. Julian thanks the party for the help handing them a Charter of Exploration and the offer of the Tabaxi guides or 50gp towards a guide of their choice. Instructed to let the bar keeper know at the Thundering Lizard when they decide. With that Julian bids them farewell saying he has things to do. The part start heading through the dark streets towards the Inn but stop as they hear a booming war horn echo across the city.
