Tomb of Annihilation (Session 4)

The party wake refreshed in the Thundering Lizard. While Thavakean & Alyssia start prepping for the Colosseum, Saralon and Orion head out into the city to try dig up some rumours. They discover the Flaming Fist operating out of Fort Belurian require Charters of Exploration for expeditions heading into the jungle and also talk of a missing airship from Halruaa. The colosseum auditioning fight begins with Thavakean rushing forward a throwing a Javelin into his muscley thug of an opponent drawing first blood. Alyssia runs forward launching a dagger at the other opponent, a sailor with a toothy grin. The dagger narrowly misses however as the sailor runs up inflicting a grievous wound on Alyssia. Meanwhile up in the stands a roguish man observes the fight. Doing some dexterous knife tricks he tries to distract the fighters. The bright sunlight from Chults sun reflects off his blade distracting the salior. The rogue casts an appraising eye over the people and deduces they are a party and just what he's looking for. The sailor distracted by both sunlight and a strange squirrel running about misses his swing and Alyssia swings in with a precise blow nearly felling the man in one attack! Thavakean swings in with a mighty great club again and again beating the muscled man down. He gets one minor hit in on Thavaken from his mace but is swiftly dropped just after Alyssia gets the final blow in on the sailor.

After the match the rogue introduces himself as Julien and offers the party a job. He wants them to cause a distraction while his organisation sneaks into Fort Belurian to find evidence of collaboration with pirates. The offer of sorting a Charter plus some free guides gets the players thinking. Afterwards they visit Zetembe to hear about his dark visions of a city to the South deep in the jungle. As evening approaches the group returns to the Thundering Lizard for drinks and to see the famous Volo who is doing a book signing that night.
